The team
The Hitachi Digital (HD) Tax Team Division provides tax compliance services to support the Digital Infrastructure (DI), Digital Services (DS) and GlobalLogic business. We manage all aspects of corporate tax related matters including but not limited to direct and indirect tax reporting and compliance, transfer pricing, tax accounting, tax projects and interfacing with tax authorities. Our team collaborating closely with the External Tax Consultant, Finance Team, and the parent company in Japan. The team is spread over various locations in AMER, EMEA and APAC. You will have an opportunity to work with experienced and dedicated tax professionals, who are experts in various fields and hold multiple certifications.
The role
You will be part of the EMEA Indirect tax team and involved in the preparation and submission of Indirect Tax Compliance. Together with your colleagues you will be preparing VAT returns, EC Sales Listings, Intrastat returns and other filings related to EMEA Indirect Tax matters. You will also be involved in the preparation of internal deliverables like reconciliations and cash forecasts. You will be part of the team managing over the 50+ VAT registrations and submitting annually 1000+ returns.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assist in Indirect Tax compliance: monthly / quarterly VAT submission, EC Sales Listings and Intrastat returns, monthly VAT reconciliation
• Monitoring Indirect Tax compliance due dates and work process for EMEA countries.
• Assist in VAT advisory and audit for EMEA countries.
• Provide guidance to subordinate in term of indirect tax compliance and indirect tax advisory.
• Act as a point of contact pertaining to indirect taxation matters for EMEA countries.
• Assist in ad-hoc cases pertaining to indirect taxation and other tasks assigned by the management from time to time.
What you’ll bring
• University Degree in Accounting/Finance/Tax (ACCA/ CPA/ MACPA graduate is a plus).
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Indirect Taxation matters with a public accounting firm (i.e. Big 4) or industry tax department of multi-national corporation including local tax office.
• General knowledge of local country taxation requirements in EMEA countries, for example Germany, UK, South Africa, France, etc. Is a pré.
• Fluent in English. Proficiency in other European languages will be an added advantage.
