Chris Leslie is the General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer at Hitachi Digital, where he manages all legal and compliance matters, including ethics, business conduct, and global trade compliance. He joined Hitachi in 2004 after more than 11 years at Sun Microsystems, focusing on international legal affairs in senior roles. Before Sun Microsystems, Leslie was Vice President and General Counsel at Everex Systems in Fremont, California. In the 1980s, he spent five years in Hong Kong with McKenna & Co. (now Cameron McKenna). Leslie is admitted to practice law in England and Wales, Hong Kong, and California. He was awarded the 2010 Regulatory Lawyer of the Year (non-financial sector) by the International Law Office/Association of Corporate Counsel. Additionally, the Ethisphere Institute named him one of the “Attorneys Who Matter” in 2011, 2012, and 2013, recognizing his contributions to various legal disciplines and his role as a leading ethics and compliance officer.
